The North End runs from the north beach down to the I-90 lid, and many of its mid-century houses have kitchens remodelled around a 36-inch Wolf range.
A range of that width in these remodels tends to sit under a hood ducted up through the roof line. We work at the hood itself, on the blower, its speed control and the lights, and at the duct joint where the air leaves the hood. The run above the ceiling and the cap on the roof belong to whoever installed the ventilation.
The range below is read in two halves. A burner that clicks without catching is taken from the cap and the electrode inward; an oven that runs under its setting is taken from the sensor and the elements, with an oven thermometer reading logged before anything is condemned.

The simmer setting kept dropping out on the back burner. Turned out to be a worn valve rather than the igniter everyone else blamed. Explained clearly, priced before the work, no surprises after.

Induction hob cut out under load and showed a fault. He identified the inverter quickly and it has been fine ever since. The part took a week to arrive, which is hardly his doing.
